This Privacy Policy explains how Powis Studios Llc, trading as Classical Guitar Corner (“we”, “us”, “our”), collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit this site and sign up for the free Fundamentals of Classical Guitar course. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to the practices described here.
Who we are
Classical Guitar Corner is an online classical guitar education business operated by Powis Studios Llc. If you have any questions about this policy or your personal information, you can reach us at [email protected].
What we collect
We collect the following information:
- Account details you give us. When you sign up for the free course, we collect your first name, email address, and the password you choose.
- Course activity. As you work through the course, we record your progress, such as which lessons you have started or completed.
- Technical and usage data. Like most websites, we automatically receive information such as your IP address, browser type, device, and how you interact with our pages.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account and give you access to the free course;
- Track your progress so you can pick up where you left off;
- Send you the welcome and course emails connected to signing up, and occasional updates about Classical Guitar Corner and the Academy;
- Maintain the security of the site and prevent spam or abuse;
- Understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, secure the site, and measure how it is used. Some are essential for the site to work; others, such as analytics, are optional. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
The services we rely on
We use a small number of trusted third-party providers to run the site. They process your information only on our behalf and for the purposes above:
- Email. We use ActiveCampaign to store contact details and send our emails. See ActiveCampaign’s privacy policy for how they handle data.
- Spam protection. Our signup form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand site usage in aggregate.
- Hosting. The site is hosted by WP Engine.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Marketing emails
When you sign up, you will receive emails related to the free course and, from time to time, news and offers from Classical Guitar Corner. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email, and we will stop sending you marketing messages. We may still send you essential messages about your account.
How long we keep your information
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the course. If you ask us to delete your account, or after a long period of inactivity, we will delete or anonymise your personal information, except where we need to keep it to meet a legal obligation.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict certain uses, and receive a copy in a portable format. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, these rights arise under the GDPR and UK GDPR. If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what we collect and to request deletion, and we do not sell your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected] You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
International transfers
We and our service providers are based in or use servers in the United States, so your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries that may have different data protection laws than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including secure (HTTPS) connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
This site and course are intended for adults and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes may be communicated by email or a notice on the site.
